Careful what you claim

15 06 2007

I ran a PR training session yesterday and we talked about how to avoid being misquoted in the media and what the comeback might be if you are – and this posting on Tony Hallett’s blog caught my eye…

My advice is think of something interesting to say and say it carefully to make sure that there is no confusion about what is being said…  pausing for breath is always a good idea and gives the journalist time to write it down!

Michael Vaughan and his PR people must have crapped themselves when they were told that The Guardian had a recording of the interview that he was claiming to have been misquoted from!   Ooops – need a new excuse then Michael..?!
