Their generation, my generation

The Zimmers

This is fantastic and is the result of a brilliant programme by the very excellent Tim Samuels (who I actually knew a while back in my youth movement days when he was a wee lad – but that is another story…).

Thankfully, my two Nanas (177 years old between them) live in a great residential home and are very well cared for and looked after – as well as having the love and support of a close and relatively large family.  But far too many elderly people live in criminal conditions and this society should be truly ashamed of the fact that the generations that looked after us, worked for us and even fought for us are living in such conditions.

Well done BBC, Power to the People and Tim on a great programme and for raising awareness for such an important issue.
