Boo.com 2.0

2 05 2007

Interesting – but risky… “Boo.com is being resuscitated for the web 2.0 era”. According to the FT, “the one-time fashion website that became a symbol of the dotcom meltdown when it burned through £100m in 18 months” is being reborn as a hotel booking site “replete with the community features and dynamic advertising that have become hallmarks of the new generation of online start-ups”.

I feel a BBC Radio 5Live phone-in about what brands would you like to see brought back to life – Compaq, Rover, Whizzer and Chips and one2one all get my vote…

I guess it’s not such a daft idea. After all, it got an otherwise irrelevant justanotherdotcom.com coverage in the Financial Times – but I do wonder if they have bought a brand that they will really want..?
